Embodiment

Embodiment offers weekly classes, workshops and on-going groups in free movement and dance. Embodiment practice is chance to dance, an opportunity to move freely, to express and release in free movement, embodiment and awareness.

It is a practice in which to take time and space to connect, through the aliveness of your own dance, with the body, heart and mind. Through music and facilitation you are invited into authentic movement.

Background

Embodiment offers weekly classes, workshops and on-going groups in ecstatic dance and movement meditation.

David began teaching the practice in 2006. He has been engaged in therapeutic work for the past 10 years. He has been an apprentice and now a trainee teacher with the School of Movement Medicine and is very inspired by the work of Susannah and Ya’Acov Darling Khan.

The practice is a chance to dance, an opportunity to move freely, to embody, to express and to release in free movement and awareness.

Through music and facilitation you are invited into authentic movement.

In the dance we explore the vast landscape of ourselves in movement in relation to self, others and the wider group.

The foundations of the practice are based on straightforward, simple principles:

  • Everyone has the potential for healing, integration and wholeness
  • The intelligence of the physical alive body offers a gateway to many gifts and much wisdom
  • Everyone has their own unique, authentic dance
  • Conscious Movement is an an alchemist of the soul
  • Everything changes

Through learning to reconnect with our body, inviting breathe, intention, awareness and the alchemy of movement, we are inviting acceptance, expression, release, transformation and integration.
