Embodiment

Embodiment offers weekly classes, workshops and on-going groups in free movement and dance. Embodiment practice is chance to dance, an opportunity to move freely, to express and release in free movement, embodiment and awareness.

It is a practice in which to take time and space to connect, through the aliveness of your own dance, with the body, heart and mind. Through music and facilitation you are invited into authentic movement.

Embodiment Tribe – an elemental journey

An evening of dance, movement meditation, connection, simple ritual and community.

We will take a journey together through the landscape of the elements. Through movement and dance we will call on the support of the elements earth, fire, water and air and free up our imaginations to access the archetypal healing and inspiring qualities of each element.

We connect with these elements within and around us to tune into the innate intelligence of nature, exploring our relationship with the qualities of each element and call on the medicine of these allies so we can cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves and our place in the wider circle of life. Through the aliveness of our own dance and connection with the elements we also take the opportunity to offer our gratitude and prayers to all life.

There are 4 simple alter spaces in the four directions which represent each of the elements. You are welcome to bring along your own personal representations of any or all of the elements and place them on the alters for our journey together.

We will have a gathering with simple food and tea after the dance. If you feel to bring food to share!

What to expect

Welcome to Embodiment Tribe

Here are a few guidelines for our dance this evening:

These guidelines allow us to hold a stronger circle and drop in deeper together.

  • Please arrive on time for the opening circle at 7.15pm.
  • There is a space from 7pm – 7.15pm for a warm up dance
  • Please stay until the end of the dance
(if you have to leave early for any reason please mention it in the opening circle)
  • If you want to chat or talk please do so outside.
  • Respect your body’s needs and limitations. Be responsible for your self and your body, there is no need to push.
  • Be aware of physical boundaries and other people in the space. Particularly if you are dancing fast or dynamic its important to keep your eyes open so you don’t inadvertently knock into someone.

Most importantly this is a space for you to drop in and connect in whatever way that feels right for you.

Enjoy the dance,

David
