What to expect from the classes:

These are ongoing weekly dance free classes open to everyone. The classes offer a space to drop into embodied movement with facilitation and guidance to encourage you into the dance in a welcoming, non judgmental, non competitive environment. The music supports this invitation. If you are new to the Embodiment practice the weekly classes are a good place to start.  They are open classes, so you can come and pay for one class. You can come on a drop in basis so there is no need to commit to a number of classes. You can come as often or as little as you like. As with any practice coming to classes regularly offers a stronger, more substantial experience of the dance. It is recommended that you attend 5/6 classes before you decide if it is for you.

When you arrive in there will be a short while to stretch, warm up and arrive in the space to music. There will be a guided ‘awakening the dancer’ to music to encourage us into the body and into the dance. This is a good time to just be with yourself and your own dance, you don’t have to worry what anyone else is doing. In this way you can give yourself the space and permission to connect. Then there will be guidance and music for the rest of the class where, at times, there will be suggestions to dance by yourself, dancewith one other and dance in groups. These are suggestions and it is encouraged to stretch yourself. At the same time you are free to trust yourself and follow what feels right for you. We will finish with a simple closing circle.
